weird pregnancy question
[info]scarsxnxstories wrote in [info]vaginapagina
okay so this is probably tmi, but whenever i masturbate close to my period i get horrific cramps. so i was going about my business and those all too familiar cramps set in. now, my period is late (or might not be... i do a bad job of tracking my almost/sometimes irregular periods) and i'm testing tomorrow to see if i'm pregnant. i lost my virginity a couple of weeks ago, so of course i'm doing the whole OMGIMUSTBEPREGNANT!!!!one!1! deal and just can't let it go even though we used condoms every single time.

so my question
if you too, get cramps right before your period upon masturbation, and you have been pregnant... did you ever get those cramps while masturbating while pregnant? hahaha i guess i'm hoping for some little clue that maybe, just maybe, my monthly gift (as tampax rightfully calls it) is on it's way
:/

Hi there. I posted here about a month ago. I got about 10 responses but only a few actual follow-throughs. So, lets try again!

Name: Emily
Age: I recently turned 21!
Birthday: 5/25/88
Location: Upstate NY, USA
Sexuality: pretty much straight
Sign: gemini

Language: English. I took advanced levels of Spanish in high school, but remember nothing really. I am pretty good at ASL, but that doesn't apply to writing letters eh? ^_^

Favorite Things: Music, reading, art (mainly b+w film photography), going to concerts and museums (art and science mainly), tea and coffee, collecting albums and found things, working out at the gym, going out to eat or cooking a nice meal, road trips! mixed cds or tapes, getting letters and packages in the mail, shopping (I am a major bargain hunter), sewing, tattoos and piercings.

Do you want snail mail penpals?: Yes! What other kind are there? I really don't think zipping emails back and forth counts.

Do you want new livejournal friends?: Not so much. Unless we penpal and use it to keep in touch about mailing and things of that nature. Sure.

What are some countries do you want to meet friends from?: I would love international penpals! I don't mind the extra postage.

Favourite movies: Anything by Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher, and Michael Moore. I really like Disney/Kids movies and asian Horror movies too. I love the Harry Potter book and movie series. I just went to the midnight showing of Half-Blood prince. I like a number of classics too. Audrey Hepburn is amazing and Funny Face is a favorite. I would have to say that Netflix is one of the best things that I have found in this life. lolzzz

Favourite television shows: Believe it or not I am a HUGE wrestling fan. I watch every WWE brand show (and usually TNA too) each week to the point I won't make plans when its on! Hahah. Other than that I love Gilmore Girls, Will and Grace, Sex and the City, Cartoons and kids shows like Flapjack and Yo Gabba Gabba! I love trivia shows too such as Cash Cab, Jeopardy, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

Favourite Music: AFI, Bright Eyes, Brand New, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Hanson, Killswitch Engage, Interpol, Frank Sinatra, City and Color, mewihtoutYou, Coheed and Cambria, Mars Volta, Incubus, Michael Jackson, Dashboard Confessional, Circa Survive, Feist, Fiona Apple, Kagerou, Hot Chip, Poe, Simon and Garfunkel,  James Taylor, The Faint, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Aesop Rock, Maps and Atlases, Margot and the Nuclear So and so's, Morrissey, The Smiths, The Cure, Protest the Hero, Rage Against the Machine, Say Anything, Saves the Day, Two Tongues, Blood Brothers, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Chiodos, Tegan and Sara, Violent Femmes, Damien Rice, The Octopus Project.

Favourite foods/drinks: I am a vegatarian. I started learning and experimenting with that lifestyle when I was 9 and have been strict about it for over 5 years now. I love vegetable sushi, edemame and miso soup. Eggplant parm. Mexican stuff (real deal or americanized). Pizza. Pasta. As far as drinks I'm always drinking coffee or diet sodas (usually pepsi max). I like juices and teas a lot too.

Favourite books: My favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, Edgar Allen Poe, J.K. Rowling, Amy Hempel, Toni Morrison, Jonathan Lethem, Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Franzen, Shakespeare. I am always reading. I keep a book in my bag at all times.

Work/School: Currently on a one semester 'break' between community college and my 4 year. I plan on being an art elementary teacher. I was working at an animal shelter for a year. Now I am a baby sitter/nanny for a 9 year old girl with a physical disability (AMC). She is amazing.

Specifically Seeking: No one specific. Someone with simmilar intrests (or not!) that wants to correspond somewhat frequently. Since I just gave you a lengthy schpiel about myself, I ask you write first so I can get to know you!

Long, Medium, or Short Letters: Medium. I guess it depends more on the quality of the letters and how well we jive. I would like the option to swap things too (mixed cds, stickers, little trinkets and knick-knacks.)

How many penpals do you want?: I have a few, but a few more would be grand!

Hand written or typed?: Hand written! There's no fun or personality in typed.

How long does it take you to respond?: I write back within a few days, sometimes a week if I am really busy or something.

Age?:
Not as important as having similar interests and learning from each other, right? I think 17-30 is a decent range.

What do you want in a pen pal?:
Someone open, thoughtful and helpful. Someone who will write in a timely manner, but issues are always understandable. Just let me know whats going on to cause delay. Someone who wont randomly stop writing for no reason.

Lack of Arousal & Virginity
[info]julianismadhot wrote in [info]vaginapagina
I'm a virgin and I have been trying to have intercourse with my boyfriend for about a year, but we have been unsuccessful. The problem is that I don't get aroused to the point where I desire intercourse, but we've done everything up to the point of intercourse (outercourse, oral, etc.). I get wet during foreplay, but nothing ever makes me feel really, REALLY good. I'm able to have orgasms when I'm alone through masturbation, but I have not come close to having one during foreplay with my boyfriend. I'm not even concerned about having an orgasm with him, so that's not really the issue. I have no experience with penetration and I'm really terrified that it'll hurt, so I don't know if that's why I'm not able to get really aroused during foreplay. We don't even attempt penetration with fingers, his penis, or anything else because I'm afraid and I just don't get to a point where I desire it at all.

I guess my question is- is it necessary to be really aroused before first time PIV sex? That's what I keep hearing and I know that would be the best case scenario, but what if you just CAN'T get to that point of arousal because you're too nervous/worried about pain? Should I just ignore the fact that I don't feel a strong desire for intercourse and just try to do it anyway? We have lots of lube on hand, so could we just use that and forget the fact that I'm not really mentally into it? I don't want to say it's my boyfriend's fault because I don't think he's a selfish lover, but I think he's just gotten to the point where he thinks that nothing he does will arouse me anyway, so he just doesn't really try that hard. And I've put so much pressure on myself over the past year to be able to have intercourse to satisfy him that I don't even really consider the fact that sex should be pleasurable for me too. I'd really just like to do it and get it over with, and then maybe after a couple times, I could learn to like it. I don't know. I'm just wondering if it's normal to not really be all that aroused your first time. I feel like I'm waiting in vain for the day to come when I feel REALLY ready to have sex, so I'm just wondering if I should stop waiting for that to happen.

Shoes
[info]feathersgirl wrote in [info]weddingplans
So i have awhile before my wedding but i'm already freaking out about shoes. i HATE heels. Actually, i hate dress shoes in general. My toes are weird and never seem to fit in dress shoes and i have a bad back and can't handle being in heels for very long. The problem is that i REALLY want and need to wear them. I'm just under 5'2 and my fiance is 6'4. I just feel like it would look strange if i didn't have heels on.

Do any of you have any suggestions on what to do or any shoes you think might work?

I'm a pretty laid back guy I guess, though I'm a wee bit shy at first. Though I've never tried this whole pen pal thing before. So I dunno if I'm shy in this setting.

I want to find: A snail mail pen pal.
How many penpals do you have? None at the moment.
How many do you want? 3 or 4 would be pretty snazzy. :)
Do you want email pals? Why not?
How long are your letters? I would say probably a page to a page and a half.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter? Dunno just yet. I don't think it would be very long.
Would you like your penpal to be male or female? Doesn't matter to me!
Age: Lets say 18+. I would most likely be willing to talk to younger people though.
Where would you like them to be from? Any where! Some out of country pals would be awesome! But I'm not gonna be picky or anything.

First time having PIV
[info]nomad____ wrote in [info]vaginapagina
Alright, I don't want to sound like completely crazy or anything but I feel like perhaps there are pointers/tips etc to this-- I am a virgin, I have never had penetrative sex but I have been dating my boyfriend for 3 years. I never had sex due to a hymen problem but now that I got it surgically removed I have been able to insert things, and am using dilators to make progress to be more comfortable inserting larger objects and I am currently on the second largest one, and will probably attempt to have penetrative sex in the next two weeks. We have tried but it was before I progressed to larger sized dilators and am getting more comfortable every week with bigger things up there. I am just wondering are there any tips yall have to make it easier? Like positions to be in, things to do beforehand, things of that nature. I do know lube will be of much use, but I only have the warming kind now which is sometimes a little too hot feeling down there, should I buy a different kind then? =} Thanks for your advice <3

There has to be a better way!
[info]sugarmagnolia90 wrote in [info]vaginapagina
I have had IC since childhood, and aside from frequent infections and a lot of pain with urinating, I've never really "suffered" from it, I guess because it's been normal as long as I've had conscious bladder control.

There's a problem though: sex really, really hurts. Anything that gives me sexual pleasure is going to give me bladder-infection feelings for hours or even days afterward. It was easy enough when I wasn't sexually active (oh, it hurts when you masturbate? DON'T DO IT THEN IDIOT.) but I'm with my fiancee now and I want sex to happen. Preferably without the requisite tears.

It does feel good while it's happening, and I orgasm, but the pain afterward is making me feel fearful of sex. There has to be a better way! Tell me, v_p! How can I learn to enjoy sex? I do all thei mportant stuff like pee immediately after and insist that my fiancee's hands are clean, but still. Pain, I has it. :(

Keeping the dress a surprise
[info]the_dah wrote in [info]weddingplans
So I went to try on dresses recently, and I went with my fiance because all of my bridesmaids are all over the country and it just hasn't worked out for them to be with me. Not only that, but I actually trust what FH has to say about what looks good on me because I know he's always honest and is less wishy-washy than I am. In addition to this, he's really into what suit he's going to choose and that will kind of depend on what sort of dress I choose.

Anyway, so a bunch of people are shockingly freaked out that I brought him along and don't really understand how I don't feel the need to have my dress be a surprise when I come down the aisle. I mean, it's not like I don't understand why a lot of girls do that, it makes it very fun and magical! But for me, I've never really romanticized my wedding as being all about me being a pretty princess and having like, the shock-factor. I don't know, it's kind of hard for me to explain, but I just have never thought that I needed to keep the dress secret from him! Even when I told my maid of honor she kept on trying to come up with ideas for me to still surprise him with the dress when I just don't care!

Is anyone else lax about the whole surprise thing or am I just insane and we're going to divorce the next day out of bad luck?

genital warts
[info]firebaptism wrote in [info]vaginapagina
My boyfriend was diagnosed with genital warts the other day. He started out with one pimple-looking bump months ago, then slowly more and more came up. We've been having sex for over 7 months, usually without a condom (I'm on HBC), and I lost my virginity to him, so it's very likely that he has passed it onto me. However, I do not have any symptoms of genital warts, and he wants me to get tested. I was researching and it said that there is no test for genital warts unless you are showing obvious symptoms. I was wondering if there are any tests that a doctor could do to see if i have this strain of HPV, or should i not worry about it until i show symptoms?

What are the best/easiest to find probiotics?

I'm on antibiotics right now for a UTI and have been eating yogurt (yoplait 2x daily) for the l. acidophilus benefit. What else can I eat/take to help prevent a YI? What probiotic supplements are good to use and where can I find them? Should I take probiotics all the time, even when not on antibiotics?
